Hello, it's Beth! « Thread Started on Dec 1, 2003, 7:15pm »
Hello everyone! I have been married to my wonderful husband, George, for almost 6 months now. I am 24, he is 31.
I work for PTI. I dh railroaders home or take them to work. I am on call 24/7. It's definatly not as glamorous as it sounds.
George is a computer maintainer at a local bingo hall. He is about to get his GED and is seriously thinking of going back to school to be an engineer. He's already thinking of designing a new bingo computer. He's really good with that kind of stuff. I'm so proud of him.
We have a dog, Sheeba. She is a Siberian Husky. So pretty. She has yet to bark for us. All she does is howl.
I am majorly into making crafts. I make photo albums, Christmas ornaments, I crochet just about anything. I can't stand to go by patterns. I have to learn something new on my own.
Well, I can't think of anything else. I guess that's me in a nutshell.

Beth! So nice to see you here. Thanks for coming by and all the compliments. I'm working on a few more changes. Trying to figure things out. Hopefully I'll get some more people coming and going once in a while. Sounds like things have been going well!

Hey ladies!!! Thanks for stopping by. I have been so busy this past week. They have been running me to death. Not letting me get any sleep in between runs. Finally, this morning when my van broke down at one of my stops, the manager of PTI came by to check on me. The crew that I had with me refused to ride with me, and I got to come home. That worried me because I thought I had done something wrong. But they said it was all because I had no sleep. My eyes were so blood shot. my manager got an earfull this morning. you see, I had marked off the board. So that means no one can call me for at least 8 hrs. Well, my manager called me after 2 hrs. and said that she had no one to take a crew to Cincinnati. But what she didn't tell me was that she was suppose to take that crew.
So the manager of the Revenna region, [which is were I was at when my van broke down] called one of the main bosses and told him about it. now my manager won't even look at me.
Anyways, I'm well rested now. I'm in the middle of wrapping gifts. I bought George a few more things to go in his gift basket. He's wanting to go to school for engineering. He's already designed a new bingo computer. So, I'm being supportive and I made him a basket full of sketch pads, and folders, and pencils, erasers, pencil sharpener, and things like that. I just need to find some more sketch pads and colored pencils.
I finally got into the mood. Yesterday, on my second trip to Cincinnati, Ohio, I got to take Santa Clause. One of the engineers was dressed up like Santa. He even looked the part too. you should have seen him ladies. His hair, the belly, he even acted the part. It was so funny. So he made me listen to Christmas music all the way up there (its a 3 hr. drive) and I finally got into the Christmas spirit.
But I got him back though. really good. hehehe We stopped at a rest area to get us something to eat, and there were two of the most adorable little girls there. Twins, infact. so I went over there to were they were standing with their mom and told them that Santa was standing over there. They went nuts and started screaming and running to him.
Well, I'm going to jump off of here and get started back on my mom's pillow covers. I've got to get those done before Christmas. I hope everyone's having a great weekend!

You definately have been a busy, busy lady. I'm glad you're well rested now. You deserve it. I think I'll start wrapping tomorrow. Got the up today and the lights up outside. Well, I was head to get a bath and bed quite a while ago and ended up working on Christmas cards. So, I'm off now (again) to put labels on envelopes.
PM me your address, if you want, and I'll send you a card.

Angie and Dusti! Wow, have things been awful around here. Only because I've had the And the most awful thing about it is, I still had to work. I guess its just because I feel sorry for the railroaders when their stuck here and want to go home. So I've been deadheading a lot of them home to either Ohio or Tennessee. But we've been slow as far as other runs go, so I've been taking it easy also. George has been sweet as sugar. He's been keeping the house clean for me while I've been sick.
I finally finished my mom's pillow covers. If I knew how to post a pic on here, I'd post one. They are so cute. I'm just glad to have them done. They took forever. Now I'm back to working on George's checkered flag blanket. That is the most boring blanket I have ever worked on. Only because it's all black and white squares. I've got some new ideas for some Christmas ornaments. I'm going to try them out before next year. I don't even want to start on them this year. I just need to focus on George's blanket.
One of my friends is having a baby Jan. 21st. and her church is giving her a baby shower Jan. 10th. I love baby showers!!! They believe she is having a girl. So I get to make her a gift basket. I can't wait.

I found out that I'm not going to get to go to my mom's for Christmas Eve. My sister and I are into it pretty badly. And she's already called and said that George and I better not show up, because her and her husband will be there. So, I talked to mom and told her that I didn't want to cause her any trouble, so I wouldn't be there. But I realized that this is how its always been. I'm the step child, so I get excluded from everything. I'm not in any family pictures, never hear about any family events until its already over and done with. So, I'm focusing on mine and George's life. He's my family now. And I have to say I have been very blessed to have such wonderful inlaws. We're having Christmas Eve at our house. A few of my friends are suppose to stop by, and my inlaws are coming over. we're not exchanging gifts, because we're going to wait and do that on Christmas day at my MIL's house. But we are going to pop popcorn, and watch movies, drink egg nog until we're hanging over the toilet. And I think my mom is going to stop by earlier on Christmas Eve. I can't wait until she opens her pillow covers. She's going to love them.
btw: Dusti, do I have my journal in the wrong place?

Well, if you want this to be an actual journal, I guess it is. You can start one (or I can move this one) to the Just Life area or Life AFTER the wedding. Doesn't matter, just let me know if you just want me to move this one.

Hello! Been awhile since I've been here. The processor went out on our computer and we had to get a new one. Needless to say, I lost all of my email addresses and websites.
I am no longer working for PTI. My manager had me without a van for two months and then when I find another job she then decides to give me one. luckily I quit when I did, the van that I was driving one of my co-workers took it to Etowah, TN and rear ended someone because of the brake pedal sticking. She should have listened.
I am unemployed right now. Well, all except for helping George at the bingo hall. I just want a part time job. Nothing major. but a woman does have to have her own money.
Christmas this year is going to be a whole lot better. I'm not going to let my family do what they did last year. Besides, no one has even mentioned getting together for Christmas Eve, yet. But I have been meaning to ask some of my sisters if they want to get together this year. They are my 1/2 sisters and we haven't really talked since our Dad passed away in 1999. But I spent most of the day last Friday with them and it was awesome.
That's all I know to talk about right now. I've got to go check on my chicken vegetable soup. Hope all is well!
